Frequently Asked Questions

Do the musicians come to the rehearsal?

It is not necessary for the musicians to attend the rehearsal. When the lead musician arrives at the wedding, s/he will speak with the wedding director to discuss whatever changes were made at the rehearsal. The musicians easily adjust to these changes. If a soloist needs to rehearse a song, the musicians will arrive early and run through the music before the Prelude music begins. In the last eight years, Classic Touch musicians have been to perhaps one or two rehearsals; they are professional musicians who pride themselves in their skill and their ability to adjust to changing situations. If the bridal party still wishes to have musicians attend the rehearsal, it can be arranged for an extra fee.

What happens if we need more music during the ceremony?

Our musicians have many years' experience playing for weddings. If someone walks too fast, or too slow, or in the wrong order, the musicians adjust, in a way that will be transparent to those attending the ceremony.

What if we want music not listed on your web site?

If a special piece of music is not listed on our web site, do ask us about it. We may have it, but not have it listed (a recent acquisition, perhaps). We may not have it, but it may be available for purchase. Finally, we can prepare special arrangements of many pieces for a reasonable fee. In other words, if you want it, ask for it.

We are getting married some distance away. Is there an extra charge for travel?

There may be, depending how far away your ceremony is from the Clemson/Greenville area. Ask us and we will quote you a price.

I have been quoted different prices by other groups. Why should I choose Classic Touch?

The are two reasons you should choose Classic Touch: quality and service. Our musicians are all professional players who have many years' experience performing and playing for weddings. Our owner played his first wedding when he was 15 years old -- 30 years ago!

We also take care to provide exactly what the bridal party wants. We spend time going over all details so there are no surprises come the wedding day. Unsolicited comments testify to the satisfaction of our customers.

What if you are already booked for a certain date and time?

Classic Touch maintains a roster of players who can be called upon to play. It is not unusual for two groups to play different weddings at the same time.

Can you accompany a vocalist?

Yes we can. Depending on the piece, we can accompany with the whole ensemble or just a piano. We can also supply excellent vocalists.

Can you play outdoors?

Yes we can, though we need to be covered (to protect the instruments). This can be in the form of a tent, dense shade, or a building overhang.

What are your fees?

Our fees are determined by a number of factors, including the type of ensemble (number of musicians), total length of time required, and possible travel. Please contact us for a quote.

What do you wear?

We normally wear formal black: tuxes for men, and all black for women. We can also dress in 'Sunday dress,' and have even played one wedding in tropical attire!

When do you arrive?

We arrive in plenty of time to set up, and begin playing 30 minutes before the ceremony begins.

What do you require?

All the musicians need are firm, flat-bottom chairs and adequate lighting. They will bring the rest.

Do you use amplification?

We rarely need to use amplification. However, if you are expecting a large number of people you may want to consider having a sound system.
